Door Problems

Four questions surrounding the passenger side door in my car. One the seal around the lower window leaks. How easy is this to fix? Two, the window goes up and down very slowly, and struggles to do this at times, any ideas? Three, the locks seem to no work, when I press the switch the door doesn't always lock and the lock sticks when I use the key at times. Will me taking apart the door and replacing the locks fix this? The fourth is somewhat funny, the door wouldn't open so I assumed it was frozen shut. I gave the door a yank and it opened, I then discovered that the bottom piece of kick plat of the door had been torn off. Any ideas?

Re: Door Problems

You mean the seal in between the upper an lower glass? The only real way is to buy a new rubber strip and reseal both windows OR you could find out where the water is leaking in at the seal and put a little weatherstrip adheasive on it. The window may just need adjusted or the metal frame that holds it in place while it goes up/down may need lubed up or worse the motors going out. Explain more about the lock? When your door was stuck did it snow or freezing rain?

This happened to mine one of the times the door was frozen stuck...Water can get "trapped" there and the bottom of the door sticks to that "kick plate" when the water freezes. I just popped mine back in and it is fine. Wouldn't be surprised if it happens at least one more time. Especially since its supposed to be -20 degrees for a couple nights here

Re: Door Problems

I have also had my lock just stick on me and there was no way to get it unstuck until it warmed up. even by hand from inside the car i couldlnt get it to move, im assuming it was just frozen. However has anyone else had their passenger side lock not work with the keychain button. Mine seems to lock the drivers side fine but the passenger side has to be locked manually. Any suggestions?
