New SVX owner - ME!
I just picked up my first SVX. Had it for about a week is all. I got it in trade for a 1985 Nissan Pickup. Title for title. Mileage is high, but the motor is solid. Unfortunately, the front diff is toast. The car will max out at 40 mph and drives totally rear wheel drive. You can hear something clunking like CRAZY when you drive it (kinda funny actually).
Anyway, I won a 5 speed tranny on Ebay out of a 99 Impreza Outback (tranny, mounts, usable rear diff, svx component drive shaft, shift linkages, flywheel, and starter) all for $300 shipped, (which I think is a good price) and I got an F1 Stage 1 performance clutch kit for $100 shipped (which I also think is a good price). The car has a powersteering leak and a bad EGR so the check engine light is on. I don't have to pass emissions so that shouldn't matter when I get it registered. I'm sure I'll fix it eventually. Maybe just try cleaning it. I have a couple pics of it but they are outdated as it now is sitting on a set stock 1990 nissan 300zx rims (the nissan is now sporting some subie flava). It's purple and black (what are the real color names?) with the blackish leather interior and light grey suede-cloth. Interior has seen better days, but it isn't destroyed either. I'm trying to win a WRX or STI cd changer cuz my cd player doesn't work. All the options seem to work, the a/c has been updated to R134, and I love the car. I'm starting my 5mt swap next week unless I decide to order smallcar.com's DIY swap kit for the mounts and the interior cleanup pieces, not sure yet, gotta do more research. You guys helped me decide to get it, so thanks. My svx I'll try to post a couple with the new rims tomorrow. The truck I traded for my svx My pallet o' tranny swap I got it all today |

Totally excellent dude!
Welcome to SVX ownership. You will have great fun with it when the work is done. The "official" name for your colour is Claret and Black. Joe

Looks liek you'll fit right in here. Welcome to the boards, great purchase/trade!
The color is Claret Metallic, my personal favorite. All Claret cars came two tone with the black roof and trunk, etc, but I have eliminated the two tone and switched to a tan interior. Claret is one of my favorite colors on the SVX. Yes, I am biased. My advice is to stay away from smallcar's kit as a few members here have had trouble with it. TomsSVX offers a kit with everything you will need. I'd suggest PMing him. Good Luck.

I can give you a price, but I don't think Tom would agree with it.
