I drive a couple of mine and the outback all year long. I do have a few garage queens though.

Well mine has been in storage for a year now, I drive it when I go home on vacation. But there is a friend who is taking care of it, like turning it on 3 times per week and so...

I am gonna see her in 8 days, can't wait

This year! I hated winter when I was at UNCC. 35 degree rains are 10x worst than 24 inches of snow!

I've stored my '93 SVX for the past 5-6 winters. I do miss driving it in the snow, but we've always had another AWD Subaru to enjoy in bad weather. Every month or so I hook up the battery and run the engine up to working temp for awhile.

My beaters, in the meantime, have been an '85 GL (that I was glad to have hauled away for free in the end), a '93 Justy (that I miss sometimes) and now an '86 MR2.

The MR2 is every bit as entertaining in the snow as an SVX, but for entirely different reasons.

I debated whether or not to store it this winter but decided to keep it out but use it rarely. I even put the snows on mainly to protect the original rims. Our winters are not what they used to be so it's probably less of an issue. That said, this will probably be the worst winter ever.

Actually it is a wonderful time of year to enjoy great activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, etc, etc. I lived many years in a warm essentially single season climate and it was boring as hell.

I won't be garaging mine. It is amazing in the bad weather. I will continue to wash it 2-3 times a week to keep the salt and road sludge from settling on it.

P.S. Our garage is dedicated to our '77 pinto that won't see a winter

NOOOOOO!!! This is horrible on a modern car It allows oil deposits to settle on parts then the oil disappears until spring leaving the deposits back! Every collector mag recommends against this practice for a car designed since 1980. Then you would also need to run it for at least a hour at idle to burn the water vapors out of your exhaust. Water sitting in steel, esp, subaru steel isn't the wisest thing either!

My 92 never sat in a garage until i decided to pull the engine. I had the hole car caked in mud, i had it through about 10 inches of snow, much more.

My idea of a bad winter is when it doesn't get cold enough. It's been in the 70's and 80's for the last week.

My two SVXi pretty much stay in the heated garage during the winter UNLESS we have a nice day - then one of them (perhaps both) is taken out for 10 - 20 miles at least. Gives me a chance to sweep out the garage too ....

Otherwise, my DD is a '97 Chevy S10 4wd pickup...

We got 12+ inches today, I had both SVXii out in it.
I was plowing with the car... snow packed into the grill... punching thru plowed drifts...

It was 20 degrees and I had the roof popped, heater cranking, snow flying... and loving every minute of it.

Mine never goes into storage...it gets garage treatment about once a week when i beat the woman home from work. Used year round for over 5 years, Michigan winters(roads) are brutal, but it's still tickin.

Mine is stored most of the time. I only take her out if it is clear and sunny, and hasn't rained in 3 days.
