finally taking a road trip in the svx

i have some family attend to in ackworth ga "my sisters new baby" i will be leaving sat morning november 3rd spend 2-3 days with her, then head to the mountains, cherokee nc area or maybe to the dragons tail, mon and tuesday

if any one is along those areas let me know if you like to meet up,

this is the first time i have really had time to take the svx on a road trip, and kinda excited and scared at the same time,

i was thinking of blue taping the front bumper and such to keep the nics off ot it, you guys suggest bringing anything or do anything to prepare besides the normall stuff?

Funny, my sister in law lives in ackworth. Would make sure to have good windshield wipers. It rains a lot in the mountains this time of year.
Otherwise, im sure it will be a great trip. That is what the SVX was built for.

Classic SVX
I just keep some extra fluids in the trunk, some duct tape, and make sure the spare tire is pumped up and that I have all the pieces to change the tire.

I took my car out to my cottage in the summer. 8 hours driving.. only one speeding ticket. Alright! Good thing nothing happened though 'cause I forgot my mag key at home lol.

you guys are nuts! I thought 4000 miles in 2 months was excessive on my WRX. Maybe I should bring my teal up to reading so we can conquer all other colors

Yeah I still got one teal left..

I rolled 120,000 miles earlier in the week.
Thats over 3,000 miles in 3 weeks.
Maybe we DO drive them a little bit
Anyone NOT putting these things on the road and eating miles is really missing out on a perfect GT car.

Angry ****Speed Trap Warning *****

If you are going up I-75 be careful in the construction areas around Adel GA (about 20 miles north of Valdosta). The locals are using it to fund their government. It is a 50MPH construction zone (double fines). May your Escort be your friend. They like to use the overpasses.

Not that I speed or anything.

Painter's tap[e roolz1!!!1!

In all seriousness, get a tupperware bin, toss in a few quarts of atf, a few quarts of oil, a flashlight, and a small tool kit.(Screwdrivers, knife, pliars, ratchet w/ 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19 mm, w/ extensions. 10, 12, and 14mm flat wrenches, a jack) Make sure there's air in the spare, and you'll be MORE than ready for anything

As mentioned, make sure you have decent wipers.

For your car, yes, painters tape the hell out of it. Get them front splitters taped good, as well as the front of the bumper, the first 6 inches of the hood, and the first 6 inches of the fenders. You'll also wanna get the rear portion of them 1200$ side skirts, and likely the bits hehind the wheels too (The part where it meets the insides of the wheel wells)

Enjoy the trip man, you'll LOVE it
