In the back seat undeneath the passenger side headrest there is a small latch. Pull up on it to fold down the rear seats

Are the doors unlocked?? If so, You can get in through the backseat or try the trunk release on the floor of the driver side. If the doors are locked, Get a coat hanger and stick it through where the door meets the roof and try to fish for the trunk release and pull it up. Good luck.

In the 92 SVX there is a small gray button underneath the rear headrest on the passenger side. Push it down to release the rear seat back and fold it down.

If it doesn't work, the lock knob on the back of the seat back may have been pushed to the LOCK position. This knob, when in the LOCK position, prevents illegal entry into the trunk from the passenger compartment.

The lock knob, as well as the seatback release to the right of it, is accessed from inside the trunk. The release also allows you to fold down the seat from inside the trunk.

If the rear seat button and the driver's release lever are both locked then you are going to have a really really hard time getting into the boot. I know because I did the same thing. In the end I gave up trying to break into the boot. I broke into my house by smashing an upstairs window and got the spare key.

Your options are to find a key that fits or have a go at picking the lock (www.lockpicking101.com).

Phil.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thanks everyone!, I never had a manual, so didn't even know about the button that releases the back seat.

Yes, the doors are unlocked, the trunk release by the drivers seat doesn't work (like I said, dumb) and I don't have a spare key.

I am willing to bet that this is the problem:

If you yried to use the trunk release lever by the driver's seat and it doesn't unlock the trunk, you may have accidentally moved the "OPENER CANCEL" lever, located in the trunklid itself. It should be in the "down" position. When using the valet key (which only operates only the door and ignition), it prevents unauthorized access your trunk from inside.

This lever is located exactly in the center of the trunklid, as part of the latch. If it is in the "OPENER CANCEL" position (up) it will not let you open the trunk from the driver's seat. Push the lever down.

Someone may have accidentally moved it at some point in time while in the trunk. Happened to many of us.
