? about L v LS models...

OK, I bought my car after much research on these cars and I am just figuring out something I think. My car is listed on its carfax as a L AWD vehicle. According to my vin # and year, it looks like its actually a FWD? I just went and looked under it but all I had was my cell phone light, I have THREE flashlights but the battery theif has been here again! I couldnt tell in the dark. Can anyone help me on this? Its a 1995 but the door date says 6/94??? TIA!

Do you have ABS on the car? If you do then you should have AWD, they both were part of the Active Safety Group option.

is it just me or does it seem like most of the 1995 svxs that are green are the L model and have the safety package with the AWD and such. this is probably the case. look underneith the car and see if there is a rear differential. Or go into a gravel road, stop, and mash on the gas and see if you go anywhere.

Look at the rear axle, do you see the rear differential?(the round thing in the middle of the axle). If you do, then it's all wheel drive.

Right, and here it is, 2006, and how many manufacturers are selling 2007 models?

Imagine that! And I was wondering how we got a 2006 Peterbilt in 2005! I just mentioned that because I thought it might have something to do with it. Im not stupid. The first page of my carfax says its a 1995 AWD, the second page says 1994 L, according to the online info on the cars mine should be a FWD. There are just a lot of conflicting things.

just look for the driveshaft underneath.

My 1995 L green is just like yours probably.....the car was manufactured in 1994 if it was a 95.

Think my Greenie is #199 "95" and an "L" model. Manufactured 6/94 with AWD. I was puzzled too by the conflicting info but the driveshaft & rear diff is a sure way to know. They must have offered a good number of AWD "L" s and Green seems to be a common denominator.

Yeah thats what it looks like, I havent had a chance to get underneath it but I am almost positive its AWD. Its pouring down rain here. Our cars are pretty close in numbers, mine is 148....
