Help to set a Diagnosis?

Okay,

Let me describe an issue that occurs almost everytime and lets see what you guys think it is... please.

I will be driving about 40-45.... lets say in the right lane... I will be cruising along and then lets say i get annoyed with the way the driver infront of me is driving (some douchebag in an SRT-4 for example) so I switch lanes and try to accelerate by steppin on the accelerator just a little bit... right at this moment my car begins to shake... like the engine/transmission cant decide which gear it needs to be in.... so the only way I can avoid it is by either steppin on it harder or letting it go back to what I was cruising it...

I have ordered the Smallcar shift kit, and some other things I intend on doing like balancing and aligning wheels.... but what do you guys think? What could it be? What should I check?

Thanks,
-Sov13t.

Possibly stiff joints in the driveshaft. Probably only noticable when the torque converter is locked. (won't do it in 3rd)
