changing the trans ratio

is it true I can buy a legesy trans and put my front diff on it so I dont have to change my rear?

Yeah, but it it is probably easier to change the rear.

IF I REMBEMER RIGHT WHEN i REBUILT THE TRANS THE FRONT DIFF BOLTED ON WITH LIKE 4 OR 5 BOLTS....AND JUST SLID ON THE INPUT SHAFT.

More like 8 or so bolts, and you also have to remove the tailpiece to get the pinion shaft that matches the front diff.

no, the pinion is held in by 4 bolts on the front bearing housing and one large nut on the back that secures it to the pinion sun gear. Swapping out gears is a pain in the arse and you are better off leaving the front diff alone and changing the rear and having a 4.11/4.44 4eat...
