Caliper location on vehicles
Yesterday we were doing standby at a Corvette rally and noticed that their brake calipers were located at the rear of the rotor on the front and at the front of the rotor on the rear. The SVX's are located at the rear of the rotor for both front and rear. Is there any advantage to the Corvette setup or is it just the way the car was designed? We saw a few of the C6 ZO6's run and they are a very impressive car!!

I remember having a discussion on this about 8 years ago. My thoughts were that the placement seemed backwards. I'm no engineer and I don't know if/how the forces from the brakes are transferred to the suspension so my answer is pretty much useless
p.s. free bump for an answer
