Oil leak

where do oil leaks most commonly come from? I have a leak that seams to be coming from both left & right side of the engines. Its not a leak that leaves a puddle(not yet). The oil slowly moves to the bottom of the engine and forms a drip around the oil tank. Its not the oil tank leaking because there's oil all over the engine. Any suggestions?

depends how far forward you see the oil. Usually it's the cam seals or the valve cover gaskets.

sorry for the question but where is the Valve cover or cam seal? Is this something that I can get replacement seals or gaskets for?

the valve cover seal is inside the valve covers on each side of the engine. you can buy and replace them. the drivers side is a pain and the passenger side is pretty easy to do. this thread should help you out

The cam seals are behind the timing belt cover. Those are best changed when the timing belt is changed. If they are leaking then save up and change a bunch of stuff while you're in there.

While changing the cam seals what else should be changed? I guess I should start saving up.

bare minimum - front main seal, cam seals, timing belt

medium - timing belt idler pulleys, timing belt tensioner

hardcore svx hypochondriac- all above + water pump & oil pump
