Northwest Region - future tours

First, a nod to MacGyver for initiating thought on future meets of the Northwest Region SVX Owners! Thx! I've been thinking ever since your post back in February. Because of schedule conflicts, we missed the both 2/2 and 3/16 meets (worst luck). We used to belong to another marque club and did a number of meets, tours and rallies with that group. The SVX just wants to be driven, so I've been working on ideas for two different driving tours.

One is a spring part-day tour of some of the scenic & twisty driving roads around King County (I'm a Seattle guy). I'm thinking of either Saturday or Sunday, 4/20, 4/21. 4/27 or 4/28, with a start time somewhere around noon, a drive of about 4 to 5 hours, ending at a restaurant with enuff parking spaces to show off a bunch of shiny SVX's!

The other is a summer weekend tour. The route I have in mind begins in Ellensburg. The Saturday leg loops down to the Columbia River Gorge, up past Mt. St. Helens and returns east via White Pass to E'burg for the night. The Sunday leg takes us north via Blewett Pass to Chelan, ending at Wenatchee mid-afternoon, where drivers can return home via east or west I-90. I've planned the route and have ideas for lodging and lunch stops. If you all like this one, I'll work on a group room rate and other arrangements.

I've done a bit of research on both tours; the next step is to gauge your interest. I'd be grateful for your feedback. If there is interest, I'll finish all plans, prepare route sheets and post meet notices. Let me know how much advance notice you feel is appropriate and your thoughts about weather-related rescheduling.

Personally, I'm anxious for a clear calendar, some good weather, some great roads and the company of a whole bunch of SVX's!

Sounds good to me!

Thanks! I was sorry you couldn't make the last couple of meets as well. But I still remember your first post from way back last year when you signed up to the site about your experience with car clubs and drives, etc and was hoping you would have some interest in this. After the last couple of meets it looks like we have at least a dozen "dedicated" owners hoping to meet several times during the year. And I think there are a lot more out there waiting for the right time and place to attend an event.

I agree the SVX needs to be driven and love your ideas so far. I'll have to look into the dates for April, but I will let you know what works for me soon. And I hope some others chime in here too.

We had also mentioned a retry on the Snoqualime Falls meet before it got busy up there. The upper parking lot and the burger place. That might work in April - hope we don't get snow again.

Sounds Good

I figure if nobody on this side of the states is interested, might as well go where the fun is

The weekend of the 19th I'll be in Boise.

The weekend of the 26th works the best for me.

EVERYONE - If you haven't already, try to send Earl the info requested on the spreadsheet in his locker (ensteele93). Once you are on his list, you will automatically be notified whenever there is an activity or meet whether you have time to check in here or not.

(of course if you have ideas or dates that work best for you, still post in these forums)

That would be no problem at all, but i don't have excel so it's kind of impossible for me to do that.

Sorry about that! I forgot how he had it set up in there. I'll go look at it and put the list in here so everyone can see it. Then when he has it done can email it to all of us in whatever format we prefer hopefully. The main thing is even if you don't want a copy he or someone can call or email (your preference) when meets are set up.

In fact, to keep this thread on track, I think I will just post a new one with the list info... I'll call it NW Member List Update Info
