Hey, Bill - I see you beat a Nissan 240SX by 10 full seconds. I challenge you to beat mine by 8 when we bump heads in Winchester.
WARNING! I did some mods. New AM/FM CD player, new Bridgestone 930's, & a pint 'o Techron in the tank. Bring on the Minis!

Ron (hood's still ugly though).

Bill,
You have last part exactly correct! I have seen an excellent autocrosser come out to one of the MBCA events with a Saturn (4 door) and cleaned everyone's clock (with indexing factored in, of course)! There were no mods on the car (actually, it was his girlfriend's car ), but he was sooooo smooth and knew what he was doing, he had excellent times! On street tires, he finished the day 4th or 5th overall - 60 cars running. Skill / experience is the MAJOR factor - so tell your wife, you can't get there without actually driving the events!! .

Harry,
Absolutely! So, what's the date of the first Winchester event you'll be running in? Can I get a "guaranteed" slot ahead of time so I don't have to worry about driving all the way there and not being able to run? I still have not recieved a single email from the MB bunch about what it costs to pay ahead of time for the entire season (like I did last season....and only got to run once!!)

Bill,
The MBCA Autocross dates are as follows:
4/10
5/22
6/12 (Mercedes only)
6/26
7/10
8/28
9/25
10/16
11/6
The following was sent out regarding autocross and you were on distro, but I don't know why you did not receive it.

The Annual AX Social and Awards Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 3, at Il Lupo (formerly Seasons) in Fairfax from 2 to 5 PM. The club will provide the snacks, drinks are on your own. More on the web site soon. If I've missed someone in the list above, please pass this on.
__________________________________________________ ____________

2005 Series!

The season rates will remain the same! (Cheers go up!) If you've forgotten, it's $140 per person for the 8 events. It's still $25 for members and $30 (one time) for nonmembers. Anyone registered for the season in 2004 can preregister from now until 9:00 AM at the first event on April 10th. However, I would suggest you sign up ASAP. If you arrive at the first AX late (like 9:01 AM), your seat will be sold to the first person in line! We will limit sales to the first 55 cars.

Send your checks (payable to "GWS-MBCA") to:

Joe Wozney
1625 Park Overlook Drive
Reston, VA 20190

It looks like all of our events will be at Millbrook HS in Winchester. The sale of WSSC is just days away. Keep looking for other lots!

**** REQUIREMENT****

It's been difficult keeping an ongoing email list. Both Tom's list from last year and mine from the year before are incomplete. One of the reasons is that we cannot read the writing on the registration forms -- no one teaches penmanship any more. (I am an example of someone who had penmanship but can only print -- and not too legibly.) Everyone who will be participating (for the season or only occasionally) is asked to send me an email confirming their own email address. If you want both a home and office email address on the list, let me know. This is the best single means we have of notifying you of changes and to request information from you.

See you ALL Monday evening!

Joe

UNQUOTE

No guarantees on running if you are not signed up for the season. They will be limiting the number again this year - you will have to get there early

5/22 will be my first autocross this year since 4/10 is Reading VI - I plan to "stop by" on my way home since it's "on the way".

Do plan to make a few, Bill. I won't tell them you "ain't stock"

Harry

A fellow SCCA'er actually posted a video of his (?) run (it was after my run group was done - the course was a little drier when I ran). If someone can tell me how to post a .wmv file, I'll do it!

Likewise with a video of two of my runs last year that RUFUS made. I'm not sure how to post it - it is quite large.

Are those the same 2 vids you sent me? If so I'll put them on http://svx-iw.com/ in the videos section.

I believe so, Dave. I forgot I sent them to you. They were actually two runs on one video.

Where did you say you would post it?

Harry
