Even better, a can of plastic dye, free in the right color, $10 if the color doesn't match

I will pick it up today and get the full list of what's wrong. But He told me on the phone that it needs tires, pretty much all the seals need replacing except the valve covers(just had that done). Its leaking Tranny fluid where the tranny joins the motor(bad seal) the exhaust system is paper thin, I stopped him after that. He said mechanically everything's good its just leaking everywhere(front, back, top, bottom) But the good news is the tranny is fine. He told me I can keep driving it but the leaks will get worse. So I'm going to sell it and buy another Merkur, I got my eye on a 88 Scorpio

I disagree. An SVX with a slipping tranny could drive to the dealership but still need $5,000 in work

OK. I raise my generous offer to $650.00 CASH. I'll even pay for your gas, at today's outrageous prices, if you deliver this dying beast to my driveway. That should cover a pretty cherry Scorpio with a parts car thrown in. By the way, is your SVX painted in a certain....uh....color? If so, what is the "color" of the interior? Most importantly, is the console lid in pristine condition?

Thank you, Ron.

The center console part is just a joke.

Cool

The whole center console is perfect.[/QUOTE]

Thus, I raise my bid to $675.00, assuming there is no major body damage.

Ron (CASH bidder).

I bid 675.50!!

Just kidding... My wife would shoot me, and then hand my carcass over to the neighbors. No place to put another one.

Thus, I lower my bid to $655.00 - assuming you have all service records from day one, & the A/C blows ice cold.

Ron.

I throw another bid into the ring for $655.01 and don't care about an ice cold a/c provided the service records are present!

god, why oh why cant i have 655.02! my mechanic would fix it all for me so nice and cheaply (at the mere expense of him taking a few extra days with it to make it just right)! *stares at his 93 Legacy wondering if it'd just be easier to do rip out the tranny and do the manual 5spd conversion*

The only records I have is from when I purchased the car and forward with 151,136 miles on it 09/03, and the oil had just been changed. The woman I bought it from was the second owner and had replaced the timing belt and spark plugs plus regular maintenance, she also said the trans was replaced under warranty when she first got it. At 151,137 I replaced 2 inner tie-rod ends, 2 front sway bar bushings to frame, Valve cover job, left an right rear bearings, 4 wheel alignment that was 02/18/04. On 04/24/04 changed battery, thermostat+grommet, pcv valve, atf hose and flush coolant. At 153,283 changed oil 09/21/04. Car now has 154,259 miles on it. Its fully loaded with every option. Just replaced all speakers, A/C is ice cold everything works and it has 4 extra rims with tires. I spent $1300 just getting it on the road but you live and you learn.
