Part of my CD collection in my car is "Wagner's Greatest Hits"

I'd say one of Wagner's greatest hits was Stephanie Zimbalist.

I don't know why you keep saying things like "schmeah & bah".
That is basically a Boston accent, not a NYC accent.

sounds more Maine to me, as in Bah Hahbuh

I realize to the "untrained" ear (read southern) all us Yankees (and Yankee fans) sound very much alike; but there are nuances and inflections. I had hoped that by this time, with all the exposure that you've had to North East culture (Reading PA twice,& Vermont once), you would have grasped these subilties .
You must have listened to way too much country & western and blue grass music in your younger years. I guess I'll just have to expose you to good music ( Larry don's flamesuit, which he bought at the DuPont Nomex Company store). Hey, if I can learn to say "shurnuff and maaam", you can pronounce your "R's" properly.

I am thinking of a 12 step program for you.
1) We'll start with 'Rock-a Billy' (Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, etc.)

Hmm, Southern boys
2) Then Elvis.

Another Southern boy
3) Chuck Berry, Little Richard, & Fat's Domino
4) Doo Wop - Group Harmony
5) Instrumental Rock (Dwayne Eddy, Bill Dogget, Champs, etc.)

Gag.

6) Motown (Temps, Tops, Supremes, etc.)
7) British Invasion Rock (Dave Clark 5, Beatles, Stones, etc.)
8) Hard Rock (Bachman Turner Overdrive)

Semi-hard
9) Flower Power ( Mama's & Papa's, Strawberry Alarm Clock, etc.)

It's A Beautiful Day
10) Jazz ( Miles Davis, Benny Goodman, Theolonius Monk, etc.)
11) Opera (3 Tenors, Mario Lanza, Andrea Bocelli, etc.)

S***w it. Go for the juglar - The full Ring Cycle in one setting.
12) Classical ( Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart, Montovanni?, etc)

Mantovani??? MANTOVANI???MANTO-FREAKING-VANI??????????
I thought you were avoiding elevator music.

By the time you've completed this course, you won't be able to say "Y'all" and your ear will be ready for Frank (Chairman of the Board).

Larry III
You may notice that I left out "Easy Listening". You can ride elevators for that. I also left out Gregorian Chant and German Opera. I didn't want to ruin you forever.
Better get that old CD player refurbished.

I think I'll go to the bah. I need a drink.

That's 78 rpms to you youngsters. I can still play them on my turntable.
Larry III
I used to listen to 78's at my Grandmother's. She had a fine collection of 78 singles, including a few Arthur Godfrey's (Mother Never Told Me) and some Doris Day on 78. I'd listen to them in between The Ventures, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Sergio Mendez and Brazil '66 and "conducting" the London Philharmonic.

I'll bet, when you were in high school, that you even tried to get a date with "The girl fom Epenimo".

You are correct, sir HAW HAW HAW (in my best Ed McMahon impersonation). I knew it ended in an "A" but couldn't remember if it started with an I or an E.

Now that we've gotten that straigtened out . . .

I was afraid it was becoming perilously close to 'The Girl that Gives Enemas' and I didn't think we were quite ready for that...

Since we're all in a corrective mood today, I believe that was ASTRID Gilberto. As to the other anal conversation fleeting about this thread, I'm going to pass. I'm probably on probe-ation, due to my less than savory comments on another thread anyway.
Ron.
