Significant Technical Input
Well, good mechs are a frustrated lot. We catch it from all sides. Sometimes it's hard to bite your tongue. I find the main thing to remember is that nobody really wants to tear their car up, but sometimes they want to do things that will tear their car up...

Anyway thanx for the compliment, no matter from which side of your hand it comes.

Randy,

The ghost of Eddycat? You may have been permanently scarred.
Kind of like battle fatigue, shell shock or whatever they call it today. I suggest that you seek out a competent mental help professional.

Paging Dr. Kuo, paging Dr. Kou.

Fantastic. I couldn't have said it better myself...

...although I did notice the complete lack of the term 'horse pucky' in your post. That should have been there.

ditto the horse pucky.

randy i was thinking the same think about the beav. very common sense kind of guy, you are great beav.

i may use the third in traffic trick. i know there are times where i can feel my car hunting. otherwise i would never consider shifting out of drive.....except to reverse or park.

PS: The technical service people seem to favor leaving it in 'D'.
how's the yhoo svx site doing? quite a while never been there, i can't afford to run both sides.

i believe beav has described so clearly for the purpose of each gear. i'm agreeing with it and learning more.

my little opinion: like i said in yhoo earlier on, i leave my tranny at "D" all the time. if there's the slippery road or anything, using '3' or '2' w/ manual button is another special condition. also, only if i feel my tranny kind of hesitating in btwn '3' and 'd' then i'll shift to '3' position in that situation. if i'm driving any country road or curvy road, the tranny needs to busy changing in btwn '3' and 'd' then again i'll give my tranny a help and shifted it to '3'. that's about all. hope i'm using my tranny right...

Randy,
You'll notice I "spell checked" your earlier post. I've decided that I will do this free for a couple of days and then, begin charging. I'll also be changing my handle to "Chubbyspelchekr."

Randy i

I need anything I can get for free. I think I'll start an "escrow" account for the car.

Gave it a real good bath and shine today. Godd news - Car looks great. Bad news - found more scratches...damn!

Huck,

Don't hit your head on the canopy glass.

I've tried a couple of times to push the clutch in beofre I start the SVX. That's a wide brake pedal down there.

Randy ii (I'm getting shiftless)
