Man, I can't believe the mess this guy has caused. It never fails, the worst drivers never seem to have insurance.

If the guy plowing the school was just driving the truck for someone else (an 'employee'), the contractor would probably have to have a contract AND insurance to work for the school district. You might be able to sue the school district and/or the contractor if worse comes to worse.

What a can of worms........... why isn't it ever easy??.......

(Why is it that all the people that drive 'stupidly' never have insurance??)

The guy doing the plowing was the owner of the business I believe.
The guy had the nerve to show up at my house today and bull **** me and my mom some more. We just said yeah whatever. He also said to us he did not have insurance. We just let that one slip to the local police (not the ones that handled the accdient). We told them that he drove to our house and said he had no insurance.

since the idiot had no insurance and was the owner of the company. You should be able to get your car replace or completly repaiared as a collectable car. He will probably be put out of business for his reckless mistake and not being insured. Sue the driver, His company, and the school district. A lawyer could get you alot more than the value of the car. He'll argue that your emotionaly disturbed with the whole matter not knowing whether the next truck you come across is going to run you off the road , or back over you. Your life has been disrupted by being afraid of going out in unfaverable weather. Don't laugh at this, a few years back my Father picked up is 5th wheel after having tire work done on it and about 2 miles from home the wheel came off rolled about 100 feet and went from a groun level window. Their was a lady in the house that was not injured at all. She sue his insurance and the repair garage for emotional stress and damage. bottom line State Farm paid her 50'000 and I don't know about the repair place.

On another note I live in Oxford and have been around the club for a few years.

i surely hope you have comprehensive insurance or full coverage so that they can help you in case you can't get any money out of it. if i'm not mistaken, if you sue and win, he has to pay you, but if he doesn't have any money to pay can't he get off by sitting in jail for 6 months or so. hopefully you have some insurance to pay for it so you won't be totally shafted.

Yep, sue the school district...they should have made sure that he had liability insurance....both parties will be held liable

I only had liability. I could not afford full insurance for that car.

i bought liability when i got my first svx. then i dumped a whole lot of money into fixing it up and opted to upgrade my coverage. glad i did, a month later i flipped my baby . luckily insurance payed me more than enough to buy a mint 1992 w/33k miles, pay the $500 towing fee from NC to GA, and i bought back the car to get parts (exhaust, rims w/wheels, calipers, rotors, etc that were just recently replaced.).

the insurance did treat the car as a collector's car and hopefully you can get a good deal on comprehensive which is a little lower than full coverage. good luck to you.

Thanks, I saw it. I don't think I want it because its got rust and I don't really want a 97. I've got my eye on one on auto trader but I can't really make a choice until I find out how much money I will be recieving to replace my car.

Check out auto trader. com, thier are many in within a 300 mile range from my zip code. there is a blue one in Auburn, but I think it is two wheel drive and the spoiler is a bit to tall . I should have read your replie before posting. seeing that you allready looked there.

I think there is something wrong with the blue one, its been on there for a long time. It was there before I bought the SVX that was totaled. I need AWD anyways.

That blue one has been for sale for almost a year now. Originally the guy wanted like $9500 for it. Plus, the owner is not the sharpest hammer in the bag, either. I don't know that there is anything wrong with it, aside from a ricer wannabe owning it, except that he wants way too much for it. I talked to the guy last summer when I was looking, and tried BSing me every which way when I told him I wanted AWD.

On AutoTrader, there are a couple of nice looking ones besides the Polo you found for a reasonable price, depending on what color you want and how far you want to travel. I saw a Barcelona Red, a Bordeaux, and El Presidente's favorite, Yellow!

I made the front page of one of my local news papers. I scanned it and it should be attached. We shall see if I made the other paper tomorrow when it comes out.

I'm sure people will read that twice to let the "backed ONTO" instead of the "backed INTO," sink in.
