I may have lied
What is the best way for me to determine what the manufacturers name of the true color of my SVX? I thought it was 'Claret'. Since I've never seen a Claret (Whatever it is in real life) I'm not certain what one is supposed to look like.
I'm selling the car and, if I'm wrong, I need to correct the description right-away. Randy ii |

If it's a 92 and "purple" it's Claret. That's the only color of "purple" that was made in '92. If it's SOLID "purple," then, it's been re-sprayed, and your guess is as good as mine. All '92 Clarets had the black roof. Also, if it's a re-spray, it may not be the original Claret. Has it ever been re-painted. You can look on subarusvx.com to check photos and compare.

It's a very dark purple metal fleck. Looks black until the sun hits it. Then clearly dark purple or maroon.
Still confused Randy ii |

Uh oh...subarusvx.com...is the car pictured at the top of this page 'Claret'?
Have I had the name of my color wrong for these 2.5 years? I'm starting to feel like an idiot. Randy ii |

You have the Ebony Pearl, which gives off a deep dark purple cast when the sun hits it. The color is actually quite striking and hard to match. It's "Black" to most people, not Claret.

paint colour
OK, open the hood. on the aluminum plate at the bottom of the drivers side hood support, if at the bottom left at the paint code it says,265, it is claret (like the burgundy wine) if it says 235, its ebony pearl.
