Thumbs down Sad Day For Nvrmore...

Well this just makes for a grumpy day. No my SVX is fine, and actually I had plenty of time driving it around today. Why might you ask, well I just got laid off.

My company just laid off 57% of the support and engineering departments. This included me.

Oh well crap happens, just time to find another job. This tends to be the way of computer admins.....

Mike,

Sorry to hear it happen to you. They used to do that to engineers so I've been there & done that. Remember this: everything that happens, happens for the best.

Wink

Sorry Ryan. Now take a vacation. I've been fired & laid off 3 times in my life, & I'm still here to tell about it. Ron.

Ryan,
Sorry to hear it. I was let go once and was off for six months. It was tough. Especially with a wife and three kids. Hang in there. The worst think we can do is to get lost in the present circumstance and lose sight of the future. There is one. Go get it.

I'm sorry to hear that too, Ryan. The same thing happened to me 3 months after we bought our first house. It's a scary time. Keep your chin up, though. You know that you are good at what you do. Get yourself some good interviews and tell people just that.

Chris,
Hah, well I appreciate the offer, but the cell phone was the companies as well. Either way, I've been looking at my finances really carefully yesterday, and I think I will be fine for about 3 months before I will be hurting. I think I may take off a few weeks and then take a look. I can probably always go back to work for KBkids.com so I'm not too worried.

Thanks for the support guys.

Ryan

Believe me, nvrmore... I share your pain! The economy was rough before 9/11... and trying to build a small company in that environment was trying enough... but after that...

Believe me... it's been rough on all of us (as a community)... no-one's gone untouched in all this. Basically I hope things start to pick up again real soon, because I don't think my company will make it to Christmas without some serious closed sales... and no-one's buying!

Good luck finding another job... I might be joining you as a fellow searchee before too long if things don't pick up soon. C'est la vie as they say.
