I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

As outlined here:

The car is up on blocks because I am having a buddy, sandblasting and powdercoating the rims. They got so rusty they do not hold air.

As far as what I want for the car. I would take about $2000 and a decent running XT6 AWD. I suppose it depends on the condition of the XT6. The XT6 is a much better car for the vermont winters. My "92'" SVX would be my summer car.

Wow, I just noticed your lineup of vehicles. SVX, Brat and XT6. I envy you. I will be looking for a Brat after I get an XT6.
Drat! I knew you were gonna say you wanted a AWD XT6. But maybe I could interest you in a Brat and a XT6 trade? Naw, I don't know if I could do that.

I have an AWD XT6... a 1991 5 speed with the locking center diff and new tires, plus a spare motor (the original) that just needs some seals and belts! 120k on the car/original motor I think. It was a NY car so the passenger side fender is rusted out, otherwise everything is pretty much good. Rear diff has a little whine but AWD is fine, and it needs the rear diff crossmember bushings replaced. I also have an extra full set of steelies with good tires.

How 'bout an even trade for the SVX? You get a spare motor!

I don't know why you'd call VT the 'armpit of subyland.' Every other car in VT is a Subaru! I really miss that. The car demographic here is very different - for the worse. Not to mention the drivers - I mean, VT drivers were aggressive, but they were good at it!

hey now...

I too have an SVX on cinderblocks. It's not in my yard though, it's in storage. It just happens to be sitting next to my '88 XT6.

I'll have to think about that one. The SVX is worth at least $3000 after I put the wheels back on.

Unless you put them on backwards.

How can you tell when you're driving through an upscale neighborhood in Kentucky?

The only cars on blocks in the FRONT yard are Lexuses & Volvos.

Ron.
