Mini-Mini Meet

Last Friday, around noon, two '92 pearlies sat in the D&Z parking lot in Newark, DE. One was mine the other had NJ plates and belonged to my exboss.

I borrowed some of his jackstands.

The two SVXes sat side by side glistening in the bright sunshine, in the cold, crisp air.

I wll meet him again this coming Friday...same time, same place.

PS: My ex-boss has 2 SVXes and is a member here.

Afetr the mini-meet, I went to my doctor for my annual check-up. I'm fine except for my cholesterol. It is too high(especially my LDL...bad cholesterol).

My doctor advised me to stop eating canoli after a good steak.

From now on it's tofu & scotch for me .

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!

Smile Reduce your octane rating

Larry

Common enough problem. There are a couple of butter-like spreads on the market here, and at least one yoghurt that claim to reduce cholesterol.

These actually work. Naturally, to give them a fair chance, you have to be moderate and cut down on the intake of those things likely to increase the level in your blood.

Look into getting these. It will speed up the rate at which your levels reduce.

Slainte

Joe

I was talking to some younger friends about this dilemma, over the weekend (As we sat at Moonlite Bar-B-Que, with plates piled full of Pork, Beef and Mutton). We have our physical health and our mental health to think about. If I'm always worried about my physical health, my mental health will suffer. If I'm stressed about my mental health, my physical health will suffer. Geez, where does it stop?

(I once tried jogging, but my cigar ashes kept flying in my face, and my bourbon kept sloshing out of the glass, so, I gave it up. )

Shame on you Randy!

You are not supposed to Drink and Drive, in case you spill it.

So how can you expect to jog and drink without being a complete waster??

As a matter of interest, my Dad, who is 87 next month, calls this occupation Joggling. A sad but so true reflection on the type of person who has to take it up.

Joe

Cutting out wine, women, & song (& canoli) won't make you live longer.

It'll just feel that way.

(I stole that from George Burns).

I think a quote attributed (I think) to Satchell Page, pretty much says it: "Age is a case of mind over matter; if you don't mind, it don't matter."

Lipitor rules! I went from 200 LDL to 125 in a month. This goes great with my box 'o natural blood thinning medication.
Now if I can just avoid passing out in front of steam rollers.

Ron.

Another Mini Mini Meet

Today (1/31/03) there was another mini-mini meet in the D&Z parkinhg lot in Newark, DE. Two very, very dirty '92 pearlies sat side by side. I returned my ex-bosses jackstands.
He told me that after I left he was going to look at a 70 something Ferrari. He is a man I admire. He has 2 SVXes and is comtemplating buying a Ferrari.

Hmmm...it was only a couple years ago when I used to power walk with the gals here, listening to them give me hell for exercising with a Bud in one hand and a smoke in the other. Now, even though the doc re-routed my plumbing, I can still manage to carry a Bud while I walk.

*loving the fact that I'm supposed to exercise for 30-40 min/day, 5 days/week. I can make it to the closest bar in 15min.*

OK Larry

Just don't die behind the wheel of it.

It's only a Ferrari, it's not likely to have the handling of your SVX on your favourite off-ramp!
