Codes 24 and 34

I ran the check engine diagnosis today, said I had error codes 24 and 34 (air control valve and egr solenoid/valve). I cleared the codes (atleast I think I did) and will see if they come back later. Anybody know how to fix either of these problems? I just cleaned out the throttle body, so that may fix the acv. Sorry for the recent flood of help wanted posts, I just don't wanna pay to have done what I can do myself. Thanks.

P.S. What is the egr?

exhaust gas recirculation...the egr tube may be pluged with "soot"
