SVX Photoshoot

My SVX is officially off the road as part of my bigger restoration plan. As with any good car project, I know it may never finish, so despite the current state of paint and panel alignment, I decided to do a final shoot of my car before it got parked indefinitely.

Full album here on my site: http://www.flamestone.com/gallery/au...992-subaru-svx

Hope you enjoy.

Nice photos. I see you also have custom license plates available to you.

Yours can... with the right photographer.

It was just a matter of choosing the right angles and lighting to avoid as best as possible the dents, scratches, mis-aligned panels, and the rust in the sunroof.

Yeah a nice touch don't you think?

There are extra fees involved, but she's worth it.

Re: SVX Photoshoot

Look into light painting or grabbing a set of strobes for your night shots, the car is severely underexposed. Look at the difference:

Lighting from two light poles 10 feet away from each side:

Lighting from 3 SB950's with white diffusion umbrellas.

Last one would look tits if you switched the focus

I know someone, somewhere, is going to come in here shouting douchebag asshole comments towards me. I'm fine with that...just giving some advice from one photographer to another.

This is awesome. Best response I've had. But not for the reason you wanted.

This reply is great because it shows that not even a photographer who professes to know about lighting could tell that I actually used multiple remote triggered light sources to get EXACTLY the exposure I needed to get the best out of the car.

Thank you.

Re: SVX Photoshoot

Artistic expression is a very personal thing and does not follow any strict photographic rules. I do not know what flamestone's intent was but, I was impressed with the backdrops of the beautiful scenery of Australia, while still enjoying great shots of the cars. The coast shot being an example, impressed by the backdrop which, deserved sharp focus, and the fact that an SVX was parked there. But, then again, I only know what I like and do not expect to be hired as an art critic in my lifetime.

Re: SVX Photoshoot

I prefer flamestones pics at night because he has used light to wrap around the curves of the Svx chuckls pic is good to but it really just shows what the Svx looks like in day light at night
