inspector liable?

so the guy who sold me my car who works at subaru (private sale though) also did the inspection on my car.(about 2 weeks ago) im noticing sometimes when i hit a dip or go down a ramp i hear something from my front right end suspension. like a clunk noise.. im going to see him today, but my mom was saying he is liable for that if somethings wrong with it? i was thinking maybe only liable if somethin really broke, not just some noises. anyone know about this? like would he have to fix it for free or something? lol it doesnt happen with every dip, just some but it pisses me off because he never mentioned anything about it.

Re: inspector liable?

short answer, no. however if it turns out he did not inspect it fully or failed to test drive and mention any associated problems you could probably get the money back that you paid for the inspection. he would not be liable for anything that is wrong with the car but he could be liable for not doing a thorough inspection. if you didn't have to pay him anything then he is in no way liable. if you take it back and approach the problem in a friendly matter then he would likely fix the issue while offering you some sort of discount. did he give you a sheet that lists what is wrong with the car and what is in good condition?

Re: inspector liable?

the only thing that he said was wrong with the car was that the window wouldnt roll back up. so i am going there today and he is fixing it for free. but no, nothing else was mentioned at all otherwise. I am also having rand om times where my car wont turn over but ill retry and it will fire up. so ill go and see him today and tell him. He works with my uncle so i will make sure i keep it as friendly as possible

Re: inspector liable?

was this an official type of inspection or the guy selling you the car saying "there's nothing wrong with it"?
