Problem w/tilt steering column

Just purchased a 95 AWD SVX and have a problem w/tilt steering column. It will only lock in the lowest position putting the steering wheel on my legs. It will release to the up most position but not lock in the up position. It swings up/down and only locks in the lowest position. Any suggestions what to look for.

Re: Problem w/tilt steering column

There is a "3rd lever" that is directly on the bottom of the steering column. That is the true tilt adjustment. The one you have been using is for exiting the vehicle. Don't worry, tons of people have been confused by this.

Yes... what Nate said. Everybody makes that mistake unless they are told about it.

Re: Problem w/tilt steering column

See below... a scan out of the owner's manual.

It seems that some of the owners here have acquired their cars without manuals. And many questions have come up that can easily be answered by referring to the manual.

I have scanned and assembled a 1994 complete owner's manual in pdf. 1994 is a good year because it covers pretty much the operation of every year... FWD/AWD, airbags (single and dual), and passive and active seatbelt systems.

Should I upload it. Or a Mod can upload. Kinda large... 30ish Mb.
