Question Tweeters

Help!!

I need to know if anyone has had luck finding aftermarket tweeters for their non tweeter SVX's? If so, where did you get them and what brand are they?

I have to turn the stereo up pretty loud if I have the windows down in order to hear it. I still have the original speakers. I think I remember Mike (Green1995SVX) saying that he bought some when he test drove his SVX but he didn't say where he got them.

Also, are they hard to install?

Thanks!!

When i bought my Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers for the front, they came with crossovers and tweeters.

Bobby,

I recently changed out the stock door and rear speakers with Sony Xplod 2-way speakers (built in tweeter) they sound pretty good… I also disconnected the tweeters in the dash because they were torn.

Yeah, that'd be easiest; just replace your door speakers with some good ones. Factory speakers are never good anyway, and door speakers ESPECIALLY get pretty much ruined over time. I'm guessing they have paper cones, and the moisture that gets inside of the door practically melts the paper coned factory speakers til there it sounds like crap. Get a decent set of 6.5s and it'll sound a lot better.

If you want a GREAT sounding stereo, replace the doors speakers, the rear shelf speakers (6X9s) and get a 4 channel amplifier. It wont be an annoying BOOM BOOM BOOM stereo but it'll sound great.
