oxygen sensors
What type of sensors do 1992 SVX's have? Are both sides the same? How many wires do they have? I noticed on e-bay that there are one, two, three and four wire sensors.

The 4 wire O2s are on newer cars with heated O2s Im almost 100% sure you have 3 wire O2s it should be a grey wire, black, and a white one one. a ground, the next is a power sorce from your ecu and the 3rd is the signal returning to the ecu. the 2 wire O2s just are useing the exhaust as the ground. hope this helps you. and yes they are both the same type of sensor... but I think the wire length is difrent but you are looking for after market O2s so you will be cuting and splicing the wires.

Both sides are identical. Get the three wire bosch O2 sensor. Save the old ones' wiring, and splice them on to the bare wires on the new units. Just match the colors.
Getting new ones with genuine SVX harness plugs will add another $100 to the cost. |

I checked the connectors and noticed the pins are black. I took them apart and cleaned them. I also switched the O2 sensors from left to right, this should tell me if I have a bad sensor if the code switches from left to right. I'll keep you all posted.

Update: Cleaning the connector did not help, but switching the O2 sensors from left to right helped. The codes changed with the switch, so now I know for sure the sensor is bad.
