SLR v/s SVX LOL

Well I was just looking at the new SLR McLaren and my husband said whose SVX is that? Giving him credit it WAS across the room on my 17" screen but c'mon now! I bet if it was a peterbilt he would have gotten that right!

Sorry momz, Mclarens are pretty cool, but out of date. I'd prefer a Z06 for $70K and then throw another $30K in it and hold onto the other $900Kthat I saved to flash at the guy in the Mclaren as I blew the paint off his fenders. No offense, they are cool cars.

Lol…Budfreak…you are funny…I believed I new a bit about cars until you come up with the one you speak of. I had to look it up…the car looks okay…but my dream list still is not modified.

Across the room!! 17"!!

Your husband has to be excused, Audrey. The side windows are the same. How else is he supposed to know, unless the Mclaren F1 is still wearing the price tag in huge day-glo numbers??

A simple mistake.

Joe

Hi guys, yes across the room, I did better then excuse him, I dramatically rolled my eyes because he thinks my obsession with the SVX is as bad as I do his with his truck! (its all a joke though!) I did point out the biggest difference though! I still think its a beautiful car! Havent looked up your dream car Jason, but I will!

My mistake about the windows David. You are right of course. When someone says McLaren I automatically think F1. To me the SLR is just another quick Mercedes, not a lot to get excited about.

Guys (and Gal),
I have seen the Mercedes, and what a fantastic car!! There was one waiting to be delivered a couple of years ago (someone with LOTS of money - Leno comes to mind) when I toured the Vehicle Prep Center North of Baltimore, MD. This is where they off load Mercedes from Germany before shipping them to dealers.

No, they would not let us even get close to the car (they did open a door and the hood for us to drool over - but not to worry, the drool fell on our shoes!!). But I can not begin to tell you how beautiful that car is!!

Harry

One passed John and me on the motorway when we were returning from the JAE SVX meet in July Harry.

I admit it looks pretty cool OK. Very wide and aggressive and handsome and so on.
But to me it is just another SL on steroids. I reckon it is about as much McLaren as our SVX has a right to be called a Giugiaro.

Me neither Harry.

It DOES have a lot of road presence, but I would not hanker after one like I would the F1.

You just get in and drive an SLR. With the F1, everywhere you go, you ARRIVE!!
