Drill a hole in the bottom

Unless of course you plan on using the tank again, then go with the other thing

Two holes The interesting thing in all this is that in two places, the manual says simply, "drain the tank", no mention of how, Perhaps they are suggesting one should invert the car over a bucket. True, because I checked in the hope of being of some assitance.

I had to drain mine after picking up 4.5 gallons of dark-yellow non-flammable "petrol"

I undid the hose that runs from the fuel filter to the injector rail and put it into a 2 Litre lemonade bottle. When you turn on the ignition you get a 10 second burst of fuel through the pipe then it stops. So you just cycle the ignition switch a few times then empty the bottle and start again. It took an hour or so to drain that much "fuel".

After draining it I put in a tank of good fuel, but there must have been a little of the bad stuff left because I was getting rough running and codes from the knock sensors. But that went away after a couple of fill ups.

Phil.

use a hose

Hi,

if you want to keep it really easy and do not care wether a little bit of gas is left in the tank use a hose (from Wal Mart) with a little rubber made hand pump (just because you do not want to suck by yourself), place the long end in the tank and the other in a bin/bottle/canister staying on the ground (need to be on lower level than tank). As soon as the hose is filled, a steady flow will result.
Be carefull not to overfill your cannister.

Good luck!

PS: If you put the wrong gas in the tank dilute the remaining amount with the right gas and repeat the procedure instead of running the mixture thru the engine.

you can't fit a hose down into the tank to get it out. There's a one-way type door in there before it gets into the tank. You could pump the gas out (like the guy above suggested) from the fuel pump door (under the carpet behind the rear sets) Good luck!
