Transfer case help

Hi, I need to change my transfer case. My question is, does year of the car make a difference, let's say I get the transfer case from '92, and mine is '94 LSi. Or It has to be from the same year.

Welcome to the site!

The physical dimensions are the same but you're probably better off getting the plates and solenoid changed in your unit rather than replacing it with another that's not guaranteed to work properly either.

(that is...if that's what the problem is)

Thank you for your anwser, that's what I was looking for.
I think I have to change the whole thing because, a pice of outer shell broke off, and it's lost ??!!
But before I buy a next one, I'll try to take it out and bring it to some transmission shop, to see it they can fix it,.. I'll see..
thanks.

Yikes, that's no good.

I'd offer you my spare but shipping would be more than it's worth as it's probably in no better condition than yours other than the casing is not damaged.
