Got into an accident...

This is the 2nd time my SVX got rear ended in like 2 months.

Today, it happened right infront of a police station. The cop in the car came running out.

And the good/bad thing is both time, only scratches to my car the the other car usually suffered bad.

This time, it was a Nissan Sentra. The front end on that car was gone and I mean gone.

The bad is that my laptop on the pass seat went flying and hit hard. I did not notice that at the time (All I thought was beating that guy to a pulp). The screen is gone. Do you think the insurance will cover it? This is like my 2nd laptop that got the screen wacked too. That pisses me off.

Anyways... Just to let you all know that SVX is a great car.

Oops!...

Hi Seraph,
I am sorry for that... and thank god nothin happened to SVX. Coming to laptop, if u have bought the extended warranty for your laptop while buyin then u can get the insurance coverage almost for 3 years usually ... how old is it?... if it is less than a year i think u can avail the company's warranty.

hehehe.... poor Nissan.... i am pity of it...

good luck with ur laptop...

Pavan

I've done some weird things to the SVX and seems like a good solid car. I feel safe in it.

I've went off a ditch and slid on the side (yeah on the door) before it fell back right way on one of my SVXes and came out without a scratch on both myself and the car before.

2 rear endings and only things I got were scratches on the car...

Just a wonderful car. I'd rather drive the SVX compare to any of the 4x4 we have in the lots in any weather condition. Period.

True.

I am just going to give it to the touch up guy for now. I want a nice colour change for Reading (if I can make it).

Randy will love me when it's done.

As for the laptop, try to get the guy who rear ended you to cover it. His insurance won't, but if you "offer" to sue him in civil court, he may give up the couple hundred bucks to get it fixed.

As for warranties, no warranty (manufacturer or extended) will cover physical damage to a screen.

Ebay may be your best bet. Remember most LCDs are interchangeable. So as long as you have the same size, the manufacturer or even if it is from a desktop display shouldn't matter.

I've replaced the LCD in my Thinkpad with one from a LG 15 desktop display I got off of Ebay.

Good Luck.

Doug

The svx really is a solid car. I avoided T-boning a Volvo s70 last month when she was making an illegal turn and I sideswiped her front bumper with a 5 mph impact. I have a 2 inch scratch on the corner of my bumper. Her bumper shifted and her paint was flaking off the side of her bumper but the bumper was not bent in any way other than probably the bumper mounts. The estimate that came out from her side totalled $3500. My insurance refuses to pay her company because I had right of way.

As for the laptop. Did you mention to the cop or anyone that hte laptop got shifted? You could mention to your insurance company maybe that it fell when he hit you and they might be able to do something about it. Good luck. It's quite difficult though to go through insurance because of high deductable.

i'm glad that there was only minor damage. if the insurance doesn't cover your lap top, take the guy that hit you to small claims court. i know that is a PITA...but puters are freaking expensive. good thing the cop was right there to act!

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Lwin,
Sorry to hear about the accident, but one the plus side, damages were really minor, and no one was hurt ('cept your laptop) Doubtful insurance will cover it, but like Keli said, you can always go the small claims route.

Accidents suck!

Our insurance doesn't cover anything in the car that's not secured.
