Smile Another question:

Didn't all the '92s have black roofs? The green one I'm looking at on ebay is all green which makes me think re-paint, right?

Just the pearl, silver, and claret

had black roofs in '92. OK, so did the black ones . My '92 dark teal does not. It still may be a re-paint though.

92 Dark Teal - no black roof.

Hmm I think Dark Teal may be the one only one without the two tone oem paint job for 1992?
DO you guys with two tone paint have two paint codes under the hood? (one for black and the other for you respective color?)

No black roof

Like Henry said, the 92 dark teal was not available with the black roof.

Hey Beav,

According to my literature and what I remember car shopping in '92, the Teal cars did not have the black roof and deck lid. The first SVX I test drove in '92 was Teal and didn't have the black roof.

Thanx for all the help guys - I tried to find that online copy of the R&T guide again this morning, to check if they came black or not, but I couldn't find the url.

Oh well, I e-mailed the seller and if his responses come back favorably I'll probably bid on the car. Maybe not the most intelligent thing I've ever done but sometimes you gotta say 'What the heck'... I'm just not looking forward to the potential hurry up, fly and drive trip to bring it home. Since they put the zipper on my chest this year I've grown to like my less hectic lifestyle.

I like the interior of that SVX. I really do. Is there any way we can check out the condition of it before getting it? I assume the people who are bidding on my car wants to know the same as well.

That might be a good thing.

My first SVX was a claret '92 and it had the Ecsaine seats, the padding is a bit different from the leather seats. The leather seats are a touch more comfortable but the standard seats hold on to you better and they don't freeze/burn your fanny. I drove Denver to Vero Beach, FL straight through - 36 hours - and they were comfortable the whole way. Most seats would have my back screaming in just the first few hours.

There's several companies a potential bidder can call Lwin. Usually at the lower right of your ad there's a box with a shipping partner, insurance company, buyer's inspection service, etc. There's another company called 'Lemon Busters' and I'm sure if a person looked around they could find more. I just don't see what they're going to check being worth $100-$130, their inspection is pretty basic for my needs. In other words I don't sweat wheel bearings, axles, oil leaks, etc. My only real concern is that the car isn't rotten underneath, being it's in the snow belt.

Thanx Henry, I'll bookmark it now.

There is only ONE 92 teal with black roof and that's one that Svxit had painted before he traded it for his Pearl. No, the teal was the only "Solid" of the 92 MY (except for Black of course, but, it was actually black with a black top and deck )
