Angry Bah that does it

I'm buying new tires this week all I do is slide around because my tires are worn down enough to make me slide. I have Yokohama AVS S4-z's and last year when I bought the car they had them, I'm assuming the last owner put like 20-30,000 miles on them. My car behaves so much differently than last year and it's not very comforting.

This week I'm gonna put on some Yokohama Avid V4's and be done with it.

New rubber makes a world of differance. I just replaced the stock rubber & there was an unbelivable change in her attitude

Has anyone tried Blizzacks? (The spelling might be close, but not quite accurate.) I'm thinking about a set, and I'd like someone with experience to comment.

i have set of blizzak ws-15s for my polo green, but unfortunately they are not on the car yet. i bought them last year for my claret, when i was in the market for a second set of stock wheels. from what i hear, i would not recommend them. i have fisk winter king (cheap discount tire brand) snow tires on the claret, yokohama f720s on the impreza, and yokohama f600s on the geo. i like my yokos, but if money is not a concern, i work with people who swear by nokians. after i go through the cheapo fisks and the blizzaks, i will give them a shot.

Blizzaks are OK, but they were overpriced. I bought a set of Dunlop Graspics and they are really good. Like the blizzaks, they are only good as snow tires for the first couple of seasons. As soon as you wear through the hydrophilic rubber-they are just normal tires. Washington state is threatening to make studded snow tires illegal, so the blizzak/graspic style of snow tire may be all that is available above the m&s rated tires. Check out the graspic prices, they were fairly inexpensive when i bought mine as they were new on the market.

Yes. One of my SVXes had it. They are great in winter but in summer, they sucked!

Got a set of Kuhmo (sp*) Supra 712's... Pretty cool tires... Good looking tread pattern... Kinda loud though.. If anyone wants a good alweather tire I would recomend the Falken Azenis ST115's ot the Bridgestone Potenza RE950's... Poter has had the latter of the two on his car and they just refuse to die!!!! Lasting more than 30,000 miles of his abuse... That includes multiple trips to the dragon!!!... The Falken's are suppose to be the quietest tires available (for a resonable price that is)..

My new Sumitomo HTR+ worked great in this last snow we just had. I love them for all around conditions. Handle great as well.

I just got my tires put on by sears yesterday. WOW!

I found them at discounttiresdirect.com I think for $89 a piece with free shipping. I brought it to Sears and their stock price for the Yokohama Avid V4 was $109.

They didn't believe the price so they called up and got hte price.

They ended up price matching it to $78 a tire

I also got new valve stems. On the way home the ride was so quiet. I thought I needed new wheel bearings again but the ride was soooo quiet I could actually listen to my radio on low and still hear it. I'm very pleased.
