I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

i dont blame the cat for doing that, if you see how the guy was petting it.

Something obviously spooked the hell out of him, and once they've flipped out, there's just no calming them down. I wouldn't have taped that outside, where they had to be so careful about not losing him. There are just too many unknown things outside for house cats to feel comfortable. Pinky was probably just trying to get to some cover.

I've had my cats do the same thing that Pinky did to that guy's leg. When they feel like they have to, they can inflict some serious pain.

i thought the cat was great. serves them right for putting it on a leash and treating him that way. i had a cat a few years ago that was capable of jumping four feet off the ground and nailing my arm. he'de also take care of the moles in the backyard and one easter morning brought us an easter bunny which was deposited on the doorstep. yes he was a killer, but i miss him anyway.

I've heard plenty of times that cats can be trained to walk on leashes. But I bet it's just like getting them to use a toilet - it takes a lot of work.

Pinky wasn't quite at that stage, I think.

One of my cats will fetch a ball and bring it back.
I'm not kidding.
Some of them can be trained.

The cat in that video was great -

Cats can be trained to do stuff like that, but it's more difficult since they're not eager to please you. It's all about consequences or rewards for them.

I've had plenty of kittens who would fetch because they like to run after stuff. But they usually grow out of it because the behavior wasn't reinforced.
