If you can find one of the bolt in rear section driveshafts, it won't have a CV joint in it, just an extra universal joint.

Was going to post a link to the SVXparts.com picture of the 2 different styles, but can't seem to locate it.

Great minds think alike

Ya the touring model sported a CV and the base model had the U joint.

I was strongly considering this as an option. I am going to call the driveline shop today and see how much to rebuild the CV joint. I kinda doubt thats it myself, because it did not vibrate with the auto.

But....there is a small possibility that changing the JWA of the CV is causing the vibration.

You know, the CV is used to working at one angle and then I changed it when I installed the manual. Who knows??

You never had any of these problems???? You used a spacer on the rear companion flange.

No I never have had any problems, with mine, but still plan on replacing mine with one of the bolt together ones, once I run into one cheap enough.
The Legacy has the same length rear section, so finding a bolt together one of those shouldn't be to hard, and you have to have the front half lengthened anyway.
I'd much rather replace universal joint than CV joints

It is going to cost only about 90 bucks to rebuild the CV. Since this is still cheaper than buying and lenthening another driveline I will go ahead and get it done. According to the shop, it did need service. I will keep you posted though it will be a few days.

thanks

Mike
