Where's the bleeder?

Does the bleeder on the T-stat go up or down? Forgot to look when I took it out.

If you want the air to bleed out I'd say at the top.

If you mean the little loose piece that rattles, it goes UP.

I believe there is a notch in the pump housing for it.

Thanks guys. I originally put it at the top and then I saw that diagram and thought I might have done it wrong, but the diagram is misleading.
