I know my facts, I'm a auto tech I work on that Ford crap all the time. It's not just opinion. Personally I like the Lightning it's a bad ass truck, and the old 70's Bronco's where some of the best wheeling rigs. Since around the 80's Ford has made some real crap and continues to make some real crap. Aside from working on this crap all the time, I have a freind that work at a Ford dealership and he fills me in on all the silent recalls and other problems Ford has. I think it would be great if they could get there **** together and build some reliable vehicles again.

They are the business, aren't they?

Like a grown up lotus Elise. I think they would be delighted to sell in the US if they needed to. It's likely they have low numbers production facilities and a full order book for the UK. They would not need to gear up for LHD because of their reputation.

That's one of the facts that did stand out to me. Any vehicle over 1.00G on street tires is extremely impressive in my books!

Continuous updates....live on this channel

<I think it would be great if they could get there **** together and build some reliable vehicles again>

I'll be happy to keep you updated on how my piece of "real crap" is doing as the year(s) go by, and I will honestly report each and every problem....large or small.

#1 There was a (not-so-silent) recall on the cruise control cable hanging up on the first SVT Focuses. Mine was manufactured after the problem was corrected.

Thumbs up

Joe,
The Noble GTO had somehow slipped by me. What a car!
It's a shame it hasn't found its way over to the colonies. The chassis designer also did the McLaren F1? Impressive...
I guess you would have to look at Saleen and Panoz over here, to find anything remotely similar.
Don

Yeah Don,

The only thing this car does not have is the cachet of ownership that comes with the expensive Beemers, Mercs and Porsches.

However, in handling terms, it outperforms most exotica on the planet, so no shortage of buyers.

The bodywork is made in South Africa and the chassis etc in England, and they are built to order.

I have a road test of it on a Jeremy Clarkson DVD called No Limits. As well as the Noble, he also abuses the BMW Z8, Lambo Murcielago, Mini Cooper S, Bentley Arnage T, Porsche Boxter, TVR Tamora, Mitsi Evo VII and a 1000hp Nissan Skyline. The DVD is on the VCI [for Video Collection International] label, code VCD0239, don't know if it's available your side, but it's a blast.

Must say the interior is of a standard I like, some of the specialist builders don't do a professional interior. The cars are designed and conceived by petrolheads and sportscar racing people, for whom the interior comes way down on the priority list. This one does recognise that the owner has to live with the car, not just for track days. A pretty serious effort at a good sportscar, methinks.

Joe

PS, run a Google search on Noble M12. I've yet to find a bad word written about it.

that Noble is a sweet car! i checked a few sites about it, but didn't catch the price. for a 0-60 under 4sec, i'm guessing if its under $100,000, its a "bargain."

Not sure Don,

But it is in the region of £40K

This makes it about $60k, and yes, I would say a bargain.

Joe

{Will check on it but ballpark is correct}

You're correct Joe, it's in the region of £45K here. Previous products from the same stable include the Ultima GTA, the Ascari and Nobel M10. But like most speciallist UK cars, including the latest Lotuses (Loti ??) and TVR's it's not likely to be "federalised" any time soon.

Never mind US guys, you still got Corvette right...........

Thanks Phil

Didn't get a chance to look it up.

Don't be razzin' their Corvettes! I think they are great cars. The latest gives a lot of horsepower per pound.

They will never be worldbeaters as the suspension is developed for American billiard table highways. Not enough suspension travel to cope with the landscaped roads we have here.

Toyota bring their pre-release cars here for suspension development before world release. The logic being, if it can cope with Irish roads, then what the rest of the world throws at it will be easy meat.

Todd put in a good few miles on Irish roads. I would imagine he would agree.

Joe

You haven't been to Kentucky, have ya, son?

Granted, the suspension doesn't have a lot of travel, and a chance meeting with a pothole could garner the cost of a brand new small car, in repairs, but, the 'Vette can take the twisties and the winding country roads. And, the suspension is fairly resilient on the smaller bumps. Having said all this, I think it's necessary to note that I'm not really a fan of the newer 'Vettes (after 1970), however, they are built in my hometown, so, I have to come to their defense.

Come to KY sometime, Joe. I'll show you some Kentucky backroads that'll make you feel right at home.

That's a deal Randy.

But I don't think you KY jello people have anything that will shock me after East Clare.

Worth a trip to check out though.
