Why are we still on this thread. I went to the web site and could not get past page one, which shows a white Mitsu "something" with a convertible hardtop.

Pictures, smitures. Who cares if he even puts a picture of the modified engine up, who cares if it even passes a Photoshop tests. The only way I would believe the claims would be if I was there in person at the racetrack as he went past a radar checkpoint or however they do that stuff.

Maybe I'd settle for a article in a reputable car magazine where the reputable staff did the tests for the performance figures themselves and then documented them.

I could be wrong here, but isn't that a picture of Dayle's(Motorsports Warehouse) car? I remember a while back he took a few sample pictures of his car with an add-on scoop just sitting on the hood... I could swear it was that same picture.

Anyone?

All I know is there's no way it can go 200. It would have to be SEVERELY lightened, and I don't see any evidence of that. If it could even come CLOSE to 200mph, it would have those 'straps' across its windshield and rear window, otherwise the force of hte air would suck the back one out.

It's complete BS. That car is just a regular old SVX with rims, a hoodscoop, a cheesy chin spoiler, and an owner with his head in the clouds.

Sweet!!! Another de-bunking accomplished

I searched through a bunch of his old posts trying to find that picture, but (duh) didn't think to try his website.

I wonder if he knows his car goes 200 mph?

Thanks Boone...

<Maybe I'd settle for a article in a reputable car magazine where the reputable staff did the tests for the performance figures themselves and then documented them>

Troy, that is what I am following in Sport Compact Car magazine.
Starting with the April issue, they have a SVT Focus project car.
Their....goal....is to make it perform better than the SVT Cobra Mustang.

Yeah I know. There is a $17,270 difference in price, and they hope to achieve this upgrade within those price constraints.

The Focus pulls .89g on the skidpad; the Cobra .92. That shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Speed though a slalom: Focus 71.5....Cobra 67.2. No improvement needed there.

60-0 braking distance: Focus 120 ft.....Cobra 126ft. Check one off for the Focus.

Quarter mile......yeah right! 13.4 at 109 for the Cobra (repeated tries) 15.3 at 91.8 for the Focus

for the record, the Cobra has 207 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque more than the Focus.

I will be watching this "upgrade" with great anticipation, and NO I will not be attempting this with mine!!

I just wonder how much turbo and nitrous can a 2.0 liter 4 take?

Warp speed

<All I know is there's no way it can go 200>

Chicane, actually it IS possible....and someone here did the figures once.

I forget the final numbers, but an SVX can really haul butt....

....when it is dropped from the back of a C-130 from 30,000ft.

Don't you guys see!!!!!!!! That pic is of dayle's at motorsports car. I remember him posting the options he could offer us with the hood scoop and whatnot. Plus it has that decal that Dayle has on the rear quarter panel by the wheel. Plus it's white and has those front bumper skirts. Nice try. Iam surprised no one picked up on it.

Did we ask Dayle if its his, or he just used the car as an example?

I'd like to beleive an SVX can go 240???mph, but maybe Dayle can tell us where that picture is from?

Thumbs up

<Guys, guys,

From my memory of Yahoo!, Preston is PD Sides, and is a stand-up guy.

This whole World's Fastest SVX thing is written tongue in cheek for your entertainment, you were meant to notice that.

I mean, c'mon, two turbos, each adding 20-50 hp????? Anything better engineered than a plastic turbo is going to add 100hp to a big engine.

Lighten up, enjoy the bull$hit with Preston.

Joe >

Right on, Joe....and I wonder how many chuckles he had when he "borrowed" Dayle's car for his "proof"?

Did you hear the one about the ATV with a helicopter turbine?
