weird problem. fans

alright i should be posting in the technical area for this one but its kinda in both.

5 months ago my condensor fan was going out it was making a verry loud squeeling sound whene it was one verry anoying. after much searching i was able to get one from a junk yard "92 fans are diffrent then the later years" suposely.

well now the opisite fan is doing the same exact damm thing whene ever the radiator fan kicks on i hear a verry loud squeeling sound from the fan motor.

has any one ever had such problems like this or is my car screwed up .LOL i have never had coolign fans go bad, nether less 2 of them go bad.

so im basically fed up with stock svx cooling fans and they are a huge pain to locate them and $$$ from subaru new like 240.00$ a piece

im going to local parts store and buying hi performance cooling fan and making new mounting brakacket for a fraction of the cost

just wondering if any one had simiilar problems or what could i do abought it.

Are you sure it's not the Alt. belt, squealing from the extra load the fans create?
Could be the Alt. going out.
Just a thought

I've replaced both fans

And I can't think of a reason for them to "squeel". As Huck said, Check your alternator and belt tension.

i was thinking the same uncam but im 100 % i can literlaly feely it squeels it only does it whene i turn the ac on,, and it wil eventally go away..

sound like the bearing squeeling im shure like they are dried up or over heated. i even took the fan out and heard it squeel right in front of me, its verry rare for them to go bad and to replace it and other one go bad

Significant Technical Input
Check with your local parts store. I get many universal radiator fan motors for other cars, hopefully they have one for the SVX.

I don't think replacing the fans is the answer. Obviously, I have never even seen the car, but "100 % i can literlaly feely it squeels it only does it whene i turn the ac on,, and it wil eventally go away.. " says to me that something is dragging on a belt. That something, I would suspect, would be the AC condenser or alternator.

What steps did you take to make sure that this wasn't the case?

I had my my aux. cooling fan go bad. The one for the AC. Since the first day I got the car I noticed when the fan came on I could feel a vibration in the car. One day driving around I suddenly heard a horibble skwealing noise, and it turned out to be the aux. fan. Called Subaru to get new one and they told me there was a revised fan blade for $50 because the old ones were out of balance and wiped out the fan motors, NOW THEY TELL ME! after my motors wiped out. So since then its just been unpluged, no problems unless it really hot and I'm idling in traffic with the AC on. Sucks to have them both go bad. I'd try using some after market ones to much cheaper.
