Mine has the Anniversary badging, and when I gave the VIN to my insurance agent she announced that it was an Anniversary Edition. The last 5 of the VIN are 01109.
Whose theory does this tweak???? Any? CJ |

Mine IS red. I think it shows all the hallmarks of being a true Anniversary. I was only commenting on the higher VIN. Bear in mind that, since this is just a trim level, they wouldn't have had to make them all sequential. They would have made "Anniversary Edition"s intermingled with the rest. Also remember that the year is encoded in the VIN, so they wouldn't just be unsold 92's.

What I mean is there were 301 anniv's produced for the US... and the rest went elsewhere.

What would really be interesting, not just for this discussion (which has occured a few times over the last couple years), but just for general interest in all the model years and how many SVXes worldwide, etc....
Would be if we could get a hold of the actual PRODUCTION numbers for every year of SVX, including how many for each market (country), how many of each trim level, etc. I'm sure this is all tracked somewhere. The list we always refer to is U.S. sales figures, which is probably a little off as model years were crossed over for suplus, early sales, etc. (still hard to believe half the 92's were sold in '93) Even since this group has been around we've seen evidence of a couple '97 SVX's that have never been titled finally being sold. So the 600 something sold in '97 actually is probably higher for actual production when adding those (admittedly few) sold in 98-02. Would be interesting to see how the other 10,000 or so were dispersed around the globe too, and the different spec levels and such. (I find it interesting that many of our Austrailian friends talk about imported Japan-spec SVXes, but there were Austrailian SVXes cause I have a sales brochure for 'em So many little interesting tidbits like that.) I bet we could get this list from Subaru when we get the official organization "official" and have a little lobbying power. (now 15 experts are going to tell me I'm wrong)

I saw a list awhile back (I will try to find it again) with people listing their cars as 25th anniversary editions that were different colors. I will try to find it.

Red was not an option for 1992, so they could not be unsold 92s. 1993 was the first year for Barcelona Red.
Mine is number 176.

My understanding of the number is that the number comes after the 101 or in my case, 101167 or number 167 in production.
