We'll have to compare vinyl inventories, here.
I feel the same way about vinyl as I do about my SVX & wine box. They'll have to pry it from my...you know.

I've got a few pieces of vinyl, also. Some first releases which are promotional copies. I have about three hundred albums. I paid for about five of them (working in radio has it's perks -- free albums and free concerts ) I have a few interesting first releases, including the Flying Burrito Bro's first album. Nick Ronson's first solo. There are some obscure selections like Renaissance, Flora Purim and a fellow that you see all over movie scores these days, Randy Edelman -- his album Prime Cuts. I could go on, but, I can't remember. They've been in the closet too long. Oh yeah, remember a group called Vinegar Joe? They had one hit: See the World. They had this guy named Robert Palmer as one of their vocalists.

QMS! Now, there's a name I haven't heard in a while. If I make it to the Smokies meet this year, I'll have to bring my "Nuggets" album -- it's a collectin of Acid Rock groups, including "Blues Magoos" "Moby Grape" and others. I could also bring "The Troggs" greatest hits, if I can get it away from my 16 year old daughter (the acorn don't fall far from the tree, huh?)

Oh yeah! That was known as the "sh!t song" in the radio business. Not because it was bad, but, it was the only song long enough (20 minutes and change) to allow you to go to the bathroom long enough to accomplish "#2" without having to rush. Did you know that the original lyrics were "In the Garden of Eden?" They were playing around in the studio and enjoyed the "corrupted" version better, so . . . the rest is history.

Hey, that gives me an idea. Why don't we, at Reading III, get a chorus line together and do our own version of "The French Mistique" from "Blazing Saddles."

Speaking of song length, do you remember "Section 43" by Country Joe & the Fish? (1966). The ultimate background music when smoking those funny little cigarettes, not that I'd ever do anything like that. Bill - I also have the Fugs' first album.
Ron.

Don't remember that one. How 'bout DOA by Bloodrock? I'd need to find a copy of that one.

Thumbs up

Should have known an old DJ would know where to find these things.....Thanks Randy for that CD site. I think I will order the Planets this weekend. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like on my current system. Those sound bites on the website brought back a lot of good memories!

No - but I guess if we spun their vinyl along with Moby Grape & Strawberry Alarm Clock, we'd get salad rock. Anyone for Meat Loaf?
