97 Legacy Outback control arm bushings...common problem?

Took the Legowag'n in for inspection last week and found out the front control arm bushings on the rearward side are bad (almost nonexistent, which explains why the car dips hard into right hand turns). Is this a common issue for the OBX? Where can I find new ones (polyurethane preferred)? Does anyone have any technical specs on these bushings? I'm thinking if I can't find anything for them except rubber ones from the dealer (which seems to be my only option at $125 a piece), I may have solid bushings cut from the machine shop or I may try and find something universal (poly) that will fit (I'm a cheap ass these days )

Next question is, how hard are they to replace? I've never had to do control arm bushings on any vehicle I've owned (however I have burnt the old bushings out of a set of Fiero control arms with plans to replace with poly, which never happened).

I'd say it's a very uncommon problem. I've owned 2 with very high mileage, 300,000+ km and never had a problem. I'm on a couple of forums for them and I can't remember seeing a thread about it.

The car has almost 313000 miles on it, so I'm not surprised that they are worn. My buddy (that did the inspection) said that its a pretty common issue with all years of the Legacy OBX from 97 up, and from what I am seeing it is more common on the 2000+ MY vehicles. He also said they are usually good for about 150k miles before they go...

I'd really like to go with poly so I dont have to ever replace them again, and it will also stiffen up the front a bit. Last resort is to have the machine shop cut me some aluminum inserts that I can put in as a solid "bushing" but I'd rather not if I can help it (noise and vibration would be an issue with the solid "bushings" I'm thinking).
