Re: Subaru is #1!

I don't put too much stock in CR opinions and surveys but I find it amusing that Mitsubishi isn't even on the the list. I KNOW we are going to hear something from the anti-Subaru peanut gallery.

This is proof that Consumer Reports has no idea what they're talking about.

Re: Subaru is #1!

Our 2010 Outback has 104,000 miles on it.

This is the least problematic of any of the 43 cars I have owned in my lifetime.

ZERO problems.

Tires at 55,000.
Brakes at 70,000
Average 30.5 mpg on regular.

I guess the troll is directing this at me.

Well, ill explain it again for Huskyderp .... im not anti-Subaru, as my last 4 cars were Subarus (still have one), and i enjoyed them very much. Id say im anti-newer-Subaru. I guess ringland failures didnt make the list.

Mitsubishi didnt make the list? Oh n0s, i will sell it now!

Proof? On what do you base this conclusion?

Consumer Reports auto ratings are compiled not only from professional evaluations but from reader surveys regarding initial quality, frequency of repair, and the like. They accept no advertising from automakers and buy the cars they test clandestinely and at retail, so dealers can't "prep" them for testing. It's silly to dismiss CU findings simply because it's not an auto-centric (and auto industry-funded) publication.

Re: Subaru is #1!

While the ring girls walk the cards signifying that Round 2 is coming, I'd like to take a moment to say that the number one and two ranked marques summarize my driveway. Stars and seagulls forever!

Or, at least for now. Life's funny like that.

With that, let's have a clean fight, guys! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Re: Subaru is #1!

Been reading CR since I learned. To drive. Back in the day when the GM X car came out they called it junk. A friend said what do they know. Bought his 1st new car since his children were born. All thrilled to take a trip to Disney World
In his new Chevy Citation. Got to Baltimore MD and stopped for gas. Pulled out of the station and the car stalled . Opened the hood and saw a piston sticking out the side of the block.guess they were right that time.

I cant really comment on CR, but Subarus newer turbo cars are dropping like flies with ringland failure. The ratio of n/a cars to turbo cars sold must be huge, or something else is going on. Maybe its a case of incident reports - an engine failure or a torn floor mat both being equal as "one incident"?

All the proof you need is that they named Old Milwalkee the best beer a couple of years back.

They are nearly as biased toward Jap crap as Car and Driver is biased to Sweatervest German crap.. Just remember one thing, your mileage may very.

Oh, come on! They didn't have the M3 on the cover of every issue last year! I think one month it was the M5.
