Santaquin man wins $350,000 car, only to crash it

A Santaquin man waited more than a month for the $350,000-plus Lamborghini LP640 he won in Maverik’s "Joe Schmo to Lambo" contest to finally arrive.

On Saturday, the shiny, 640-horse sports car was delivered. David Dopp had won the 2008 model on Nov. 12 at Brigham Young University’s LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Six hours after Dopp took delivery, though, he was calling for a tow truck. ABC 4 News reports that he was giving a ride to a friend outside Santaquin and took a curve at about 50 mph, only to find he was spinning on black ice.

He hit a fence post, sustaining front end damage. He had just laid out $3,500 for six months worth of insurance, thankfully.
