Clear coat problems

Anyone else's 1994 having extensive clear coat problems. Car's paint job has been perfect up until recently. Just in the last year or so the clear coat has begun peeling on the roof and the small plastic side pieces below the back windows. The car is not in a garage but I use a good wax on it and am surprised with how bad it is becoming.

My 95's clearcoat is pealing on the little plastic pieces and starting to wear out on the top of the car.

I've seen many 94-95 SVXs with clearcoat problems.

I have only one on the rear spoiler of my (for-sale-here) Teal '92. The car's been garaged most of it's life, and the spoiler looks "like new" except for that peel.

Yea like I said it's been very good up until recently and now it is going downhill fast. I guess I'll have to take it to a bodyshop and see what they can do for me.

In my case, I discovered my clearcoat "peeling" last summer and, fortunately, it has not changed since that day, or turned up elsewhere. So mine actually did not peel, as such, in the sense that I never saw anything progressing then or since. The sudden onset and 6"-8" "blob" shape of the gone clearcoat and no indication of continuing peeling made me suspect that something had spilled on and burned the clearcoat, but it was the clearcoat only that was gone.

I agree. It seems like there were clear coat issues on 94-95 svxs. My 95 was starting to fade on the roof when I had it repainted in 2003, and I always kept the car in a garage! The green blue and red cars also seem to be worse than others.

The clearcoat on my '95 Bordeaux was shot on the hood, top, and trunk/wing when I bought it in 2006. I had to have the whole car repainted.
