BRUTAL winter!!

We dodged the bullet this time, but points just west of us are CRYING!
One little town near Jennings Randolph lake, (about 45 miles SW from here, has recieved 262 inches so far!! Their 'record' was 162 inches!
Oakland, MD has ALWAYS handled it theirself. this year, National Guard brought in Humvees to fetch people off the roads and graders and loaders to get the MAIN roads open.
I just had 100# glacier fall off my roof onto a tin porch roof! That is why I'm still up tonite. I WAS asleep. No damage, but it sounded like a NUCLEAR ATTACK!!
I know of 15 collapsed carports, sheds and porches, but I have only been able to see them for a couple days, since the GREAT THAW of 2010!
Thank God, I don't own any of them this time.

Re: BRUTAL winter!!

The weather is becoming crazier each year. I remember the first time it rained over here, yes the FIRST time in history that it really rained in Qatar was three years ago. It was the time when I first moved here.

It kept raining for three consecutive days, few more hours and they were about to consider the country in a state of emergency. They don't have any drainage infrastructure and everything was flooded! Now they are working on it

Also back home (Lebanon) the weather has been really abnormal. Two days ago people were wearing T-shirts and sweating like crazy. Yesterday and today, the weather is so crazily cold and snowy that a lot of people didn't even bother to go to work

Sh!t what is really happening on Earth

Re: BRUTAL winter!!

A lot of people attribute the drastic weather changes to the H.A.A.R.P. program. Some believe that since the occurrence of the Norway spiral on Dec. 9th of last year the weather patterns of the world have been dramatically changing.

Re: BRUTAL winter!!

We finally got ahead of our annual average, but we're still behind last year by about 46 inches. Up here, the winter has only been brutal in its subtlety.

Ditto. I'm not sure we broke 18 inches this year. I'm strongly considering putting the BBS goldies back on.

Keysers Ridge, just about 25 miles west has recorded 262.5 inches so far this season. 100 inches over 'average' too!!
Newspaper article said that "the snow blowers are having trouble throwing it high enough to clear the top".
I was just outside and it was snowing a little bit....

Re: BRUTAL winter!!

The snow and cold weather is killing me. Someone promised me global warming and I'm pretty irritated that I didn't get it.

Re: BRUTAL winter!!

Trade ya. Our snow is melting away to the tune of high-30s. It's this in-between stuff that gets me down. I have two cars for two very opposite seasons, and rather cool but salty is not one of them.

22 and snowing like hell, or 75 and sunny. The rest of the days? Put 'em in the can.

Now... where's the rest of my snow?
