Exclamation 4eat question

So I did a recondition in a 4eat from a 1997 svx and used a 1990 legacy transmission for parts. I had to change out the pinion gear in the svx tranny so I used the pinion from the legacy with the 3.90 gear if I remember. I used internals of svx and case... The question.... Is the rear gear ratio the same as the front since i swapped the differential and the pinion gear from the legacy to the svx tranny... Just need to make sure I didn't mess any thing up before I sell. LOL Thanks

Re: 4eat question

If I understand your question right you will need to match the front ratio with a rear diff of 3.90.

The SVX gearbox does not have a reduction ratio as far as I know. I think the output is 1:1, so if you have put in a 3.90 in the front diff, then you should match that with a 3.90 for the rear as well.

Anybody knows different please chime in.

Re: 4eat question

hi svx is 3.54 and they need to match or it wont work ,the 90 4eat was not a good year either ,they had the same oil supply problems to the planetary gears and reverse clutch ,a 98 is a better choice
