Re: windshild wipers
I can't stand how the windshield wiper stalk works the opposite of how you'd think it should. You press down to turn them on, down again for faster etc. It's the opposite of my Audi, and it drives me NUTS!

Try going from only driving GM cars since I started driving, to the SVX The first time I looked at the stalk I hoped it didn't ever rain for awhile But I figured it out pretty easily. I can't use my front windshield wash as the part on the driver's side nozzle that the hose connects to is broken |

Re: windshild wipers
Try driving a 1984 olds Cutlass Supreme! The first month or so I kept using my windshield wiper controls to try to shift...

Re: windshild wipers
Yeah, I had and 81 and 85 olds delta 88 and then an 85 buick lesabre so I know what ya mean. However I at least had 2 floor shift cars previous to my SVX so I didn't actually have that problem.

Re: windshild wipers
I think my Taurus has the best wiper controls I've experienced. It has about 10-12 intermittent settings, and every time you change the setting up a speed, it triggers the wipers once. So I just start by advancing it one spot at a time whenever I want to wipers to wipe, until they get to the speed that they go just as I'm about to hit the switch. I like Subaru's design too though. I really like that the wash is a button, not a different direction on the stalk. Too many other cars I've tried to use the "mist" function, only to get some spray and a half-dozen wipes.

Re: windshild wipers
I've never had any of those problems, but then again I've mainly owned Subarus up to this point. I did notice the speed-based wiper speed difference with my Legacy though.
