Re: Pumpkin Carve 2008

I'd like to go. Would be sweet to finally get to one of the big events but I"ll have to see. As I have enough budget restraights and I need to be home to work on that following Sunday@ 6am. We'll see. I"ll let Bobby know ahead of time as I haven't been coming on here much for the past couple months. Just too preocupied with my Impreza's swap and all that's going on with that.

Apron is freshly laundered! Just got a brand new 'BBQ kit' for the occasion!

I might have to 're-jet' OT's GRILL though!! It burns too hot!

Jeryy, don't you know that everything Tom owns has only 2 settings -- 'off' and 'full blast'!?!

We often joke that he doesn't have a gas pedal - on his car it's an 'on/off' switch.

This month is a killer for me -- as soon as I make it through September, I can start planning for the Carve.

That being said, of course we would be grateful if people pitched in. If somebody wants to start a list of 'who's bringing what', then by the time the meet rolls around, I can just worry about straightening up the house and picking up "last-minute" stuff. I usually try to "whip up" something that's homemade (like pasta salad) to go with the "dead animal" food that Jerry so lovingly prepares for us.

I'll inventory the non-perishables as soon as I have a chance (plastic plates, cups, utensils, etc.) and post if I need anything.

That's quite a long drive for you, anyway! The next "officially scheduled" meet will be in April (the tenth anniversary 'Reading Meet'). Hopefully, you can get all of those pesky details worked out by then. If you can possibly make it, you won't regret it, I assure you.

Of course, unscheduled mini-meets pop up all the time. (Especially around here...... )

Friday night usually means drinks and conversation at the fire, followed by lies and tall tales and more drinks and a SUNRISE.( you don't have to drink that late unless you want to.)

IF you want to AX, get here in the 7:00 to 8:00 range, head to airport for tec. If you are just here to enjoy the food and friends, go to OT's house and follow the crowd when they wake up at about 10:00 to watch. We go to OT's after the AX for 'fellowship' and food. (I usually do the grilling) Dianna spends some HOURS of quality time in the kitchen preparing the pasta and all that kinda stuff.(This is about 4:00).
Saturday is usually the best day to make it. A lot of the guys/gals have to get on the road on sunday A.M. so they can get back to work, etc..

Hope this answers some of your questions!

WELCOME, Nancy!!

Bring some 'Turning Wheels' and I will be sure to drag April out for a spell.
