HID Alternatives?
Are there alternatives to getting HIDs to get brighter lights? Without a proper projector housing for them, I've heard terrible things about them. I figure that if there's a company that sells high wattage bulbs (with a harness or something) that it'd be a good replacement for the stock stuff there. I drive in some dark ass Texas chainsaw-like neighborhoods, and would like brighter lights so I can actually see where I'm going.

There is the 9005 mod and also the HIR bulbs. If you do a search in the mod section you should find some info on both.

Those terrible things you heard about them may apply to other cars. It is true the projector lens on the SVX is not designed for HIDs. OTOH, I have OT's and an economy brand of HID conversion kit in two of my SVXes. I can gaurantee you won't be disappointed, or get flashed by other drivers, especially with OT's kit.
