Question Trim

Not that kind of trim

When I bought my car there was a nickle size hole or rip on the dash pad by the passenger airbag. The previous owner had found a matching piece, kinda like a round leather plug or something and stuck it over the spot. It REALLY bugs me and I want to get it fixed.

What's the leather repair capability these days?

Could a pro take off the patch and repair the spot?

Would a repair be obvious and replacing the whole dash pad or getting it recovered the only fix?

If I was to replace the dash pad would any year match?

thanks
